Street Art as Education: Learning through Urban Creativity

This course explores the intersection of education and street art, focusing on how street art can be used as a tool for communication, social activism, and education. Through lectures, workshops, and artist visits, participants will learn how street art can address social issues, foster community engagement, and promote cultural exchange.

Target Group: This course is for educators, community leaders, social workers, artists, and anyone interested in using street art in educational or community settings.

Preparation: Before the course, participants should complete a pre-course questionnaire.

Familiarize themselves with local street art and present an overview of their hometown’s street art.

Read pre-course materials on street art’s educational potential.

Evaluation and Certification: Participants will be assessed through group activities, final projects, and self-reflection.

A certificate of completion will be awarded, recognized by the Erasmus+ program, and a Europass Mobility Certificate will be issued.

Program Overview

Day 1: Introductory dinner and group activities.

Day 2: Lecture on the history and evolution of street art.

Day 3: Guided tour of Bucharest as a “living gallery.”

Day 4: Practical street art techniques workshop and artist visit.

Day 5: Visit to a contemporary art museum to discuss the difference between street art and gallery art.

Day 6: Final presentations of collaborative projects and reflection, certificate ceremony
